This might be a good question for Xorg's mail list (http://www.x.org/wiki).

Lots of Xperts there : )

If you go there, it might be a good idea to post your xorg.conf
file and be prepared to also post /var/log/Xorg.0.log there as well.

In any case, be sure to backup your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file before messing with it:

#cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.orig

I hope you get it going! : )

Subject: SL5.1 xorg problem.

Hello,

after a fresh SL5.1 install on a Dell Optiplex 740
I have no mouse pointer which is very annoying :)

It was there during the install and during the boot process.

Also, I was not able to get a better resolution than 800x600
on a 1600x1200 flat panel screen with the "nv" driver
00:05.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C51 [GeForce 6150 LE] (rev a2)

The sound is working
00:10.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP51 High Definition Audio (rev a2)

rpm -Va seems to give a lot of files with at least a bad Time

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core

Thanks for your help.
