Just to make sure I know what you are talking about, you mean instead of
having it put grub on the Master Boot Sector, like /dev/sda you want it
on the partitions, like /dev/sda3
I personally don't know, I've never tried it with the live cd install.
I'm currently not in a position to find out anytime soon, I'm just
double checking to make sure I, and others, understand the question.
