Where are you getting sun's jdk that has the x86_64 plugin?
It's not in anything that I download, either rpm or just tarball based.

I have been informed offlist, that we actually have indeed been
shipping the x86_64 firefox. I'm going to share this tidbit so that
others know about it because it isn't widely known.
The x86_64 java plugin is here
/usr/java/<java version>/jre/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so
I'll work on updating java-1.6.0-sun-compat to include this.
