So how do those who prefer mail lists see the material posted on the forum? If that material isn't automatically forwarded to the appropriate mail list, a large portion of the community will be unaware of important topics. It would seem that the forum would be much the poorer without their contributions.

I don't know if everyone was aware of this (I just found out yesterday),
but there is a forum for Scientific Linux. It looks like it was created
fairly recently. I just wanted to bring it up in case some of you
prefer
web forums to mail lists (like me). The url
is<URL:http://scientificlinux.proboards.com/index.cgi?>
http://scientificli
nux.proboards.com/index.cgi?

Maybe it would be interesting to have some official forums under
scientificlinux.org domain name; these proboard things, they come and
go.

We currently cannot have forum's on the official www.scientificlinux.orgsites.
This is due to the login restrictions that we currently are under.
This issue is currently being looked at, but is a lower priority than a few
other items.

Hi Troy. I sent you an email about a link to our proboard sl forums. Hope
you got it. I can assure everyone the forum isn't going to go anywhere
because I'm the one that started it. I've known the mods for years and they
won't vanish either :) I love this mail list, but this just gives us an
alternative for those that like web forums. The first announcement I made of
the forum was on this mail list looking for mods. Our own spoovy
volunteered. One of the other mods I've known for years is from Czech
Republic and is a RHEL certified engineer. Hope to see some of you there,
but we all will continue to monitor this official mail list of course.

Thanks ....
