I suppose that you have a dual boot, i have 4 operating system into my
pc, include windows, the normally process is that you should have a
grub to choose one operating system when you are starting your pc, you
can fix it with [1]

This is very likely the xorg update problem. I suggest booting SL to
runlevel 3 (or 1) and downgrading your xorg package and see if that
fixes your problem.
