I can't say whether this counts as a spoiler for the later series, but I'll

  The references to the War have been in several of the New Adventures novels. 
If the series chooses to treat this as canon, then the Doctor isn't the last of 
the Time Lords. There are definitely three more, and possibly others in hiding, 
because the War was fairly unpopular among the other races of the Universe 
(witness the part of "Rose" where the Nestene Intelligence is raging at the 
Doctor, who replies anguishedly, "I tried to save the other races!"). Strangely 
enough, I'm in two other Doctor Who fan groups, and neither has yet to post a 
single thing about the series. Guess I need to rattle cages there...
