Myself, Tracey, I give them the MST3K treatment when I can remember to tune
them in. Makes it surprisingly bearable.

bad movies got me tripping down memory lane. Tracey, you asked why we watch
some of the bad junk. Well, in a word: fun! The old camp movies are so bad, so
mind-numbingly devoid of acting, plot, and anything approaching production
value, they're classics of camp that make you roar with laughter. That's why
stuff like those old two-headed transplant and killer frog movies are
hilarious. The problem, I think, wiht the moder SciFi Originals is that they
aren't good enough to be enjoyed, and aren't cleverly bad enough to be enjoyed
as camp. They're just crap. "Highlander" falls in that category, as to recent
turkeys like Chubacabra, Gargoyles, etc. They're just plain awful. I think the
old scifi turkeys at least look funny because of the cheesy clothing,
hairstyles, and FX. The computer images used now are just bad, not funny.

So maybe it takes time. Maybe thirty years from now we'll all be laughing
uproariously about "Highlander: The Source" as a classic gem of good camp.
Maybe--but I doubt it! My watching wreally applies to the older movies that I
watch as a kid, and had no choice, and which now are funny. I skip the vast
majority of Scifi Originals, only watching a few here and there that look
halfway decent, or maybe watching if i'm home sick or it's a cold wintry night.
Other than that, I really can't imagine that all that many people watch their
stuff.
