Yeah we disagree. When Davalos is done up, I think she's quite stunning. And although of French/Semitic heritage, I believe, i can see her playing a Greek goddess more than some I've seen chosen for the role...
As for Arteton being way prettie, yeah, we completely disagree. The brunette Davalos is way more striking to me. But that's personal opinions. You answered the question I asked Worf a few days ago, about when a 3D film is really *made* for 3D. I can't tell when or if they actually conceive, shoot, and edit a film for real 3D the way Cameron did, or when they tack on 3D effects as a sloppy addition. From what you say, it's the later for "Clash", so i won't waste the extra ducats on a 3D showing. Maybe I'll do "How to Train Your Dragon" in 3D, then catch "Clash" in 2D, and of course "Why Did I Get Married Too" is only on 2D also! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kelwyn" <ravena...@yahoo.com> To: scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, April 2, 2010 11:48:08 AM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: [scifinoir2] Re: Tale of the Titans In line with our other disagreement regarding female beauty I was disappointed by Davalos' casting as Andromeda because I don't think she is fetching enough for the role. IMHO the actress playing Io (Gemma Arteton - the erstwhile "Strawberry Fields" in "Quantum of Silence") is way prettier (and, the way the auteurs have bastardized the original story, you actually root for Perseus and Io to get together). Davalos' casting is another example of the current filmmakers being "tone death" to the story. Andromeda has to be beautiful enough to offend the Gods. In the original "Titans," Judi Bowker was arrestingly comely in the Andromeda role. ~(no)rave! --- In scifinoir2@yahoogroups.com , Keith Johnson <keithbjohn...@...> wrote: > > I hate to see Rave's review (which was great, Rave) that Alexa Davalos wasn't > used much.
