Hello everybody, The two project ideas with Olivier's name are very interesting to me. Notably the NMF project could also include a rehaul of the current implementation, a cython non-negative least squares solver, addition of KL divergence loss, and as much love as possible for sparse matrices.
I would also like to propose a more maintenance-oriented project, such as was suggested in the last discussion on this topic, earlier this year, given my familiarity with the codebase. Maybe Andy would like to mentor such a project? Given that he's been doing so much good work on quality lately, maybe I could take the load off his shoulders this summer. I remember Gael saying that he'd rather be moving towards scikit-learn 1.0 than add more features that take as away. I feel that we are in a pretty solid position and I agree with this idea. WDYT?
