Hello scikit-learners,
It's been a while since I was active on this list, but I thought you folks
should know about some exciting machine learning research opportunities
here in the LISA lab at Université de Montréal. You may know of one or both
of the ML-related packages we develop/maintain, Theano (a GPU-capable
mathematical expression compiler) and pylearn2 (a Theano-based framework
for machine learning algorithms research, particularly focused on deep
learning).
We have 4 faculty in deep learning plus one affiliated faculty member in
computer vision, all currently looking for students who'll ideally bring
both mathematical/analytical and systems programming skills to help push
forward the state of the art in deep learning. Since software development
is such an integral part of our research agenda, a track record of
successful high-quality contributions to projects like scikit-learn would
be a significant asset to a prospective student or postdoc.
We have openings at all levels, from short term undergrad/graduate
internships to Master's, PhD and postdoctoral fellowships. For more
