Hi Tushant.
Sorry for the late reply, but as you said, your request was a bit late.
We would expect possible students to be active in the project, that is work on issues and submit pull-requests before applying for a GSoC project. Also, an application should include a review of the proposal by a mentor, for which there would have not been time in your case.

Best,
Andy

Hello All,

I do understand that I am late, but would still like to know if it would be possible to work on the project on Generalized Additive Models, towards a GSoC project?

I am a graduate student, with research interests in machine learning, statistical estimation and mathematical optimization. And wish to apply for GSoC to get an experience at working on large open source libraries.

While, I understand that it could potentially be slightly late for asking this, but since there is still time before proposal submission, would it be possible for someone to please guide me on what all is the expectation of this project, in addition to the reference research literature provided on the Ideas page? Also, what might constitute prerequisite work for this project? Could someone please let me know if it is still possible to work towards this project?

With thanks,
