I'm planning to release version 1.68 in about a week so the freeze
process starts now. There'll have to be a good reason for any new
additions and only features that are already in-process will go in
after tomorrow.
There are two changes to the Platform API for this release,
expandable palettes and translucent (alpha) drawing, so platform
implementers should have a think about whether they can support these
features as defined.
Neil, I already made the API changes for the alpha stuff - but I did
not recall any "API" changes for the "expandable palettes"... just a
posting from you about the behavior changing - but I hadn't thought
this involved any new calls.
A check of the archives did not show a subject that included
"palette", so I can not find your posting to review it.
As for the alpha handling, I would rather that you just used straight
0 - 255 values, and then had Scintilla default to the "no alpha"
behavior unless an explicit value was set... in general "magic" values
are nasty, but in strongly typed land, magic values necessitate [even]
more structure than would otherwise be required/convenient.
