Sorry for replying to an old thread
Why not have a local browser access the .php on your local Apache,
then tell your browser you want to see the HTML source of the
resulting page?
When you launch your browser you can ask it to throw the source right away:
http://www.google.com/
view-source:http://www.google.com/
Might be useful
I know with Firefox you can configure SciTE as the "view-source"
handler, which will result in the URL about throwing you back to SciTE
with the source of the generated page
