OK. I couldn't figure out an easy way to tell what's a comment, but that didn't rule out the possibility that one already existed.

Yes, but I didn't say my mod avoided new settings (or the conceptual equivalent), nor was it designed to be self-documenting. I said my mod was a kludge to accomplish a particular goal, which it does; and it does so as simply and unobtrusively as I could personally come up with. I am not an especially skilled coder, but there might be others who are even less able or less inclined to make changes to SciTE, but who would like the ability to make SciTE indent less aggressively without giving up autoindentation completely. Maybe there aren't such people reading this list, but I mentioned it just in case.
