Hey James,

For the auto-complete word part, i have a patch against scite 1.72 which
does exatcly what you wanted. Typing just the first letter will bring up all
words starting with that letter and so on ...

If you want it, I can email the patch to you or you can use my compiled
version of scite.

You can have a calltip for substring, but SciTE can't do exactly what
you want.

You can use an API file and call Complete Symbol.
