The only reason I know that when it happens is, i have no-ip running that give
me a host name to a dynamic ip.

In /var/log/messages, I know when no-ip runs. When I lose my interface, no-ip
has a failer message. That is the only way I know about what time it is.

I ran a portscanner and I have no open ports to the world. The only open ports i
have to any host is smtp ssh telnet and vnc. ssh and telnet do not run on
normal ports. And these ports that are open are from work

I also run chkrootkit to test for rootkits and other items such as changed
binairies (ps etc) and that has shown know problems

I will switch the interfaces and see what happens

I doubt it is a hardware problem if it happens at a certain time of the day.
However, I could be wrong. How do get it back up and running? Does it do it
on its own? Let's see what happens when you swap the cards.
