If we could get switches that would be better. Using hubs, the 100 M/b type (or faster) would be best, especially if going with disk less nodes.
I think the idea of getting it housed at one of the colleges or schools is a really cool idea. Might also get us a guaranteed pipe. If we can't get a school to house it, maybe we could talk to some businesses. Need a place where we could get physical access most of the time as well.
Ted, besides recompiling the kernel really, really fast what other types of things could we do with it? Are there any good image generation programs which run on clusters (or that we could port)? One of the guys (Mark?) at the last meeting was talking about doing some image stuff at the May meeting.
I can donate cut pieces of plywood if you want use them to mount on some kind of hander. Otherwise, we could try finding something else. Plexiglass or some kind of sheet metal would also work. I still think it would work best to pull them out of the cases. It would take less space and the cluster could be cooled with a couple inexpensive used fans from WalMart. The cluster can expand over time.

Stackable hubs, ohhhhhh ya, I thought that this would be the area I was going to have to beg money for. Ya hubs and cables are definatly welcome :)
