Slugsters, I strongly recommend that everyone subscribe to this electronic magazine. The articles are not frequent, but are of good quality and interesting. It looks like they are going to have some good stuff lined up for the end of the year.

Hase Subject: New Year's Speakout December 31, 2003 Open Magazine - Your strategic guide to Open Source <http://www.open-mag.com/cgi-bin/opencgi/email/redirect.cgi?Open1231> As the clock ticks toward 2004, we decided that we should spare you our dutiful predictions or indeed a year in review, as if you never heard of SCO or Novell or that a CIO on Wall Street likes doing clusters on Linux. What we do bring you is a special edition of New Year's wishes from Open Source voices in the frontlines who, through the years, have not swerved from their convictions that the business adoption of Open Source is going to happen--and happen--in public and private organizations around the globe. Marten Mickos, CEO of MySQL AB, is an Open Source advocate who clearly proves in 2004 that with great technology you can do great business. John Terpstra, co-founder of Samba, is an Open Source practitioner who clearly proves what can be accomplished in exhibiting, to use one of his phrases, "spinal stamina" in standing up against deficient solutions. Read what both want to share as their New Year's wishes for what they genuinely believe in: the business future of Open Source.
