Great West Casualty in South Sioux City has added a new position for a support programmer analyst. The job description follows. This is the same position I have, so if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. We have almost everything from Assembly (a few things still around) to Websphere (Java). The majority is hosted on our mainframe, but we have quite a few Windows servers around, too. The closest we have to *nix, however, is running VMWare on a few Linux boxes. Analyze production jobs for efficiency, reliability, dependability and accuracy. 2. Analyze and code small enhancement projects, support problems and issues. 3. Conduct unit tests. 4. Consult with project leaders, systems analysts and customers. 5. Respond to direct customer contact via telephone, face-to-face and email on application support problems and issues. Assist in training of customers and trainers. 6. Build programs and subroutines. 7. Complete detailed programming documentation. 8. Conduct implementation planning and execution. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED. Education/Vocational Training: Bachelors degree or equivalent in experience. Prefer degree in computer programming, management information systems or computer science. Work Experience: Minimum 2 years experience programming in a variety of platforms. JOB EXPECTATIONS 1. Quick thinker, responsive to customers and problems 6. Ability to manage time and priorities 7. Patience 8. Good knowledge of GW IT systems or ability to learn systems. 9. Ability to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; regularly reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; occasionally stand; walk and sit.
