OK - so I have sort of asked this already - maybe I was unclear or maybe I am just an idiot. Anyway, since I am supposed to be converting gate scripts from teamware to mercurial, I really need to know what things mercurial will do as opposed to what teamware now does.
For example, pbconfirm gets email from teamware when a putback occurs, parses this email and then sends a congratulatulatory message to whomever did the putback. Will my modified pbconfirm get email from mercurial? If so, in what format? If not, what other mechanism could (will) be used? Has any of this been already invented? What I was hoping for is a minimally functional mercurial workspace that has been set up the way people have decided that the SFW and ON workspaces are going to be set up. Or, is it my job, as "script monkey", to also invent the interfaces that the scripts will use? (I would hope not, given my all of several weeks experience with mercurial, and just having made it through most of the documentation). I'd just like to start making some progress here, but so far I still know almost nothing about how the "open" gates will operate. Does anybody know?
