The current merge support that we have makes it hard to interrupt a
merge session and finish it later. See the discussion starting at

Why I'm marking this as P2: I expect it's mostly larger project that
we're going to try to entice into Beta testing our Mercurial support.
And it's mostly larger projects that are going to need the support for
interrupting merge sessions. So we're going to want this prior to
starting the Beta test.
