Summary: Mercurial Issue 598: "undelete" sequence leads to crash
Product: SCM Migration
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
URL: http://www.selenic.com/mercurial/bts/issue589
OS/Version: Solaris 11/Nevada
Status: NEW
Severity: critical
Priority: P3
Component: mercurial
AssignedTo: scm-migration-dev at opensolaris.org
ReportedBy: mike.kupfer at sun.com
An undelete, or moving a file to its old location, confuses Mercurial. I don't
know if the bug is in the repo interpretation code, or if the problem is that
the repo somehow gets messed up. Marking as critical in case it's the latter
and the corruption could propagate.
I think this is a stopper even if it turns out that repo corruption isn't a
possible outcome. It's just too easy for someone to shoot themselves in the
foot.
Fixed in crew.
