Summary: building inside an ON repository overwhelms hgignore mechanism Product: SCM Migration Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: Solaris 11/Nevada Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: P3 Component: onnv-scm AssignedTo: scm-migration-dev at opensolaris.org ReportedBy: Mark.J.Nelson at Sun.COM Per Rich's estimate: "64,188 unversioned files in a built tree, 46,979 excluding the proto area, archives, packages, logs and closed bins." Even if we added {obj|debug}{32|64} dirs and *.o, most of usr/src/cmd still builds in-place. If build products are reported by hg status, developers will be confused. If we try to maintain thousands of files in .hgignore, it will be unmaintainable. Need a solution to keep status output clean and accurate, and avoid putback of build products into the parent repository. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.grommit.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.
