I wouldn't like SCMBug patching Bugzillas core, every little thing that won't work in Bugzilla will at first be SCMBugs fault. You couldn't upgrade Bugzilla safeley anymore. I'm using CVS to upgrade Bugzilla so the changes by SCMBug may be merged properly, but everyone else using tarballs or the favourite package system under Linux will get a problem, I think. In my mind it's no problem if getting autolinkification to work is one of those things the maintainer of the specific Bugzilla installation has to do and keep in mind. Showing the possibilities and letting people choose the proper way for themselves could be enough help.
