Indeed. But, in a way, the lack of cataloguing is a plus. You end up having 
to dig through everything, and see it all. If I trusted to a cataloger (sp?) 
I'd be trusting to someone else's interpretation of what they are seeing. 

Take that letter, for example. If someone had "catalogued" it, they may have 
stuck it under general correspondence or something like that. I would never 
have looked there, I'm researching "Auld lang syne", after all. 

Cross referencing is an art form.
