About Tantallon's appearance in Crieff:

>it was a shame that there were perhaps twelve of an audience at the most.>

Toward the end of August in '98, my husband and I stayed in Crieff. I was delighted
when I saw an announcement in the postings in the Town Square that there would be a
meeting of the local Fiddle and Accordion Society that night. Good music was the
promise.

That night we traipsed down the High Street to another hotel and there were four
accordions and one old guy, a not-so-hot fiddler trying to play something on pitch, in
rhythm and recognizable (there were about 40 in the audience, and we were the
youngest). I got the impression that, not only were there no other fiddlers in the
Society, but the accordionists and audience let him play out of the kindness of their
hearts.

Maybe I imagined the whole thing. Nigel, any information on this event's participants
back in August of '98 and what kind of Accordion and Fiddle Society this is?
