Ah well, Robyn, I didn't come to live in Crieff until the century after you (I'm not getting into an argument about when the century started - it would only spoil my poor joke), so I cannot be held responsible. In the year and a half I've lived here I have never made to any of the local fiddle/accordion events, because I'm usually working in Edinburgh when they're on. > Maybe I imagined the whole thing. Nigel, any information on this > event's participants back in August of '98... No, you're probably right: you DID imagine it all. It wisnae me, anyway. > ...what kind of Accordion and Fiddle Society this is? Believe it or not, in the 60s Crieff was quite a Mecca for folk music, with Scotland's first folk festival and a thriving folk club. Changed days: there's very little of a musical nature happening generally in the area. There's a local group who are not bad (On The Wagon), but I reckon it's up to me to get something going. I'll try to get along to an accordion night one day and see what it's all about. -- Nigel Gatherer, Crieff, Scotland [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.argonet.co.uk/users/gatherer/ Posted to Scots-L - The Traditional Scottish Music & Culture List - To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
