Sweetness of Mary is by Joan McDonald Boes of Cape Breton Island - published in Fiddle Music of Prince Edward Island by Ken Perlman (Mel Bay). It was also published in Am Braighe (a Cape Breton Gaelic newspaper) about two years ago.

It has in recent years become popular in English music sessions - the tune is in the repertoire of the English Country Dance Band - who are from Stroud, Gloucestershire.

I can't find an abc transcription anywhere.

Dear Nigel,
Along this same thought: I have looked for the music to "The Sweetness
of Mary" which I heard on a CD by Alsdair Fraser (Return to Kintail). It
is really a beautiful strathspey -at least that is what I think it is.
Anyway it is really nice.
I am a lever harp player and this would be very appropriate. I've
searched the ABC sites with no success. I realize that is the possibility
that it would be there by another name.
    Thanks for your helpful website!

I have sent her a couple of ABC files, but I don't know whether it's
the right tune - neither of the tunes of that name in The Nineties
Collection is a reel.
