The following announcements are from Jack, who is having a little trouble posting to Scots-L.
............................................................ Two announcements ================= (1) TMSA festival list The TMSA hasn't managed to get its website updated this year, so I've OCR'ed their festival list for the rest of the year and put it on my website <http://www.purr.demon.co.uk/jack/>. (2) My "Old Scottish Flute Music" CD-ROM This is now available. Here's a blurb I've posted to other lists about it: As far as I know this is the first collection of Scottish music specifically for the flute to be published since 1890, and certainly the most wideranging ever. Virtually none of this music is in print anywhere else, much of it comes from manuscripts that have never been published or books that are now extremely rare, and much of it is *very* different from anything you'll find on any recording. 9.50 GBP including p&p (cheques or cash only) or the cash equivalent of 11 GBP in other currencies (the extra is to allow for airmail). No other methods of payment yet. See <http://www.purr.demon.co.uk/flute/> for more. (PS to that; one of my US customers suggested paying by international money order, and that will be ok). I am thinking of holding a "flute ceilidh" ("Fluters' Ball"? should I insist on Come Dancing outfits?) to mark the launch, sometime in the autumn (probably in the function room of the Dean Tavern here in Newtongrange: a good space, cheap beer and convenient buses back to Edinburgh). The idea would be to mix some playing for listening with a flute-based and fiddle-free scratch ceilidh band playing for dancing (I will get a caller). Let me know if you're interested. ------------------------------------------------------------------------Jack Campin: 11 Third Street, Newtongrange, Midlothian EH22 4PU; 0131 6604760 Posted to Scots-L - The Traditional Scottish Music & Culture List - To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
