Hi,
My grant finally arrived today so i'm seeking some advice on upgrading/buying a new pc. At present, my main Linux pc, is an intel p3-500 with 64mb ram. I'm looking to get shot of that and get a decent base, my plan is a twin processor board, ideally an athlon board, but since I already have a p500 chip, a duel pentium board may be better. I had thought about getting a kbit raid board for the athlon but my flatmates one isnt all that reliable. So i'm looking for a new board/chips, in the price range of 200-400 not including ram etc. I'm also looking for a new graphics card, I did have a matrox one with twin head and i'm looking for something along the same lines. It needs to be able to spit out a 1200x1024-32bit@72hz on one whilst the other head can be something else. I dont do a lot of games so 3d rendering isnt all that important to me but any recommendations from past experience or good write ups appreciated. I'm also looking for a digital camera, reasonable spec, must have a little lcd panal thingy, and a reasonable zoom. And finally a good sound card, I listent to a lot of music and a good card is required, it must be linux compatable and also have good midi module stuff. So if anybody can recommend any of the following: Motherboard, preferabbly dual processor Good graphics card. Good sound card. I'd be really chuffed, Thanks again David ===*rtificial Intelligence is no match for human stupitity!" __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
