I managed to sort it by switching the resolution to 1152x864. I don't know
why this fixed it but on IRC and a few people said the Mach64 server with
XFree86 3.3.6 is buggy. It works at the moment but if I get any more hassle
I'll probably upgrade to XFree86 4.
