Hi, I used a cpia based wabcam, the compnay that
manufactures it is called zoom, basically the set up
was as follows,
 
install 2.5.6
say yes to v4l - cpia/cpia-usb
 
then fire up your fav v4l linux device and have a
webcam working
 
CPIA is very easy to use and i've found it works
without problems on 2.4.* The webcam address is
iirc
 
webcam.sourceforge.net
 
follow doc's from there
