Hi Allan,

Read this with some interest...I'm a complete Newbie..yep..another one :)  I have a home LAN, with a windows 2K box connected to a cable modem.  I use Sygate to set up routing between my other client windows boxes and the Outside World.  I have no clue whatsoever how to set up the Linux box tho :)

Don't know if anyone's familiar with Sygate, but it does not require the net to be accessed via a proxy, but rather configures your net settings with the relevant DNS and gateway info...very obliging I thought :)  Prob is...you need to install software on all client machines to do this and there isnt a client for Linux :(  so you have to do things manually.

My main box has an internal IP of 10.10.10.1, so I figured that if I set up the network settings in Linux to use a gateway of 10.10.10.1 this would work.  Sadly my *VERY* limited of these areas are showing through..cos it didn't work :)

Any ideas what I have to set up to access the outside world from this Linus box?

TIA,

Duncan.
