I have installed XP, and it does overwrite the /mbr with a nt loader.

I really screwed it up by not uninstalling mcafee virus scan, which casued
me 3 days of troubles. Make a boot disk,

On the topic of XP though, I thik it is actually very good. I have had it
installed for about 2 months now, and it has not crashed once, I am very
surprised how stable it is.
