So there are basically 2 trees for the 2.4 kernel, yeah? 2.4.x-linus and
2.4.x-ac. I had been running 2.4.9 but the ntfs driver was screwed and
wouldn't compile.

I've been running 2.4 for at least 7 months @ home and have not had any
_major_ issues with it, but my laptop is another thing all together - I
have seen more stable win98 boxes. Mostly I think it is problems with the
display (there is an S3 Savage4 graphix card in it somewhere), and 2.4.5
would lock & crash xmms...

Anyway, AFAIK, the ac is the more 'experimental' tree, which I thought was
weird as Mr Cox usually seem to be one for stability over experimentation.
So you think that the -ac tree may be a better bet to use?

TIA
