Hi everyone,

Firstly thanks for all the info, and yes I was on about the UKUUG conference
in Bristol. As for the Linuxexpo we (Runtime) are considering attending some
of these over the coming year - so you can all kiss goodbye to Borland Kylix
as your development tool of choice ;-) Seriously though I think we may make
an appearance at atleast one of the Expo's in Europe and elsewhere. However
there does seem to be quite a few to chose from!

Kind regards,

rod

Rod, I'm ust back from 'Not the Linuxworld Ireland' in Dublin last
weekend.

The 'official' Linuxword Ireland was cancelled, due to the current
world situation and companies pulling out.
But word went around, especially on the Linux Beer Hike list.
Many people sad 'what the heck - I've booked the tickets or
the time off and I'm going'.
so we had a grass roots event instead - and it was marvellous.

I think about 50 or more people turned up, from all over Europe
as well as Ireland.
I'm not sure when the 'official' event started/ended, but there were many
pub visits, and piss-up was organised in a brewery.
Alan Cox gave a talk in Trinity College on the Saturday morning,
and we followed on by a pub session and a BoF on clustering
and Grid computing.

Tux was spotted drinking stout in Messrs. Macguire.

Sunday mornign was 'Distro Wars' wit a paintball match between
RedHat and all comers (I didn't go to this one).

All in all a great weekend - and for me confirming that all you
need is enthusiasm and a bunch of geeks to put on a good event.

I'm told the official evet is being rescheduled for April -
so put the date in your diaries, I bet it will be a good one.
