Hmm, a developer tool where I can't inspect the source... no thanks. A 
developer tool without available source loses a lot of power. As an example, 
I'm about to embark on creating my own blit function for SDL ( 
http://libsdl.org ) because the standard one lacks a couple of useful 
features. Without being able to use the SDL sourcecode, that would take until 
kingdom come.

Not to mention the 'freedom' argument, but that would probably start a flamewar :)
