I am having a lot of trouble trying to set up my linux machine, eventually I am hoping to set up the linux box as a firewall but for the moment I can't even connect to the internet. We have a lanmodem handing out IP addresses but we have reserved the address 192.168.1.26 for the linux box, I am able to ping the lanmodem from the linux box. On the other side I have a windows machine 10.10.1.2 and the linux machine has the fixed address 10.10.1.1 and they can ping each other quite happily. But at the moment I am not able to get internet access of any sort, no pings, whois', web pages, nothing. Any ideas what I may have missed?
