Comrades,

I thought i'd try and install Galeon as it came with Linux Format this month.
I've copied the archive from the cd and unpacked it. When i come to the
configure step , i'm getting the following failure :

"'glib-config --version' returned 1.2.10 but GLIB (1.2.8) was found"

at which stage it bombs out telling me to remove the older GLIB.

Does anyone have any idea's where/what GLIB is? Is it the glib.h file? If so
i've replaced all occurances of the file with a symbolic link to the new
glib.h file that i created when i installed 1.2.10 this morning. I'm still
getting the same message though , which leads me to think its not getting
this reference to 1.2.8 from glib.h.

I'm of course presuming that there is an old file lying around on my system
that is reporting 1.2.8 to be the current version , but i've no idea what
that file may be called or where to find it.

I know that the configure script would probably tell me , but it reads like
hebrew to me , i've looked but can't locate where its getting this 1.2.8 from
( i can see the value is held in a variable , but can't see where that
variable is getting assigned from ).

Any pointers before i give up in disgust and go back to using Opera?

Cheers,

KW
