There weren't any of these machines on display, but the manager told me it
was book size.

I wasn't considering this machine for myself, since I would like something
considerably faster. I was looking at it for my Uncle who needs a basic
word processing machine and I think a Linux workstation with everything
stripped out - simple Window Manager (like Fvwm2 or IceWM), and set it up
so that it can only load Mozilla and a Wordprocessor (maybe Abiword, Corel,
or LyX). Since it would run Linux only there is no need for a second hard
drive.

Since your brother is doing fine with his then perhaps your brother's
computer is different from the one described by the member of the other
malling list, or perhaps he just got a good one. In any case thanks for the
information.

Steven.
