ignition leads only carry positive charges so it will not make any difference to these. However motherboard can be attack by the lubricant and then attack the system wiring on the board. oh and it also makes a hell of a mess with dirt and dust. one of my ex-mate tried it and it started blowing system components. he had to change the motherboard, harddisk and graphics card as they all suffered WD40 damage.
