http://freshmeat.net/search/?site=Freshmeat&q=Outlook+Express§ion=projects ...gives some clues. I used mbx2mbox for a one-off translation some time ago, with no problems. I don't know about writing back to them. > Ideally I want to set all my email boxes up in Linux, as well as windows, > but don't want to have some messages on Linux and some on windows, and also > don't want to have to boot between the 2 to check mail twice each time I > want to know if I have any new emails. This is very icky. The nice way to do it would be to have the mail on a second machine, running an IMAP server which could then be accessed by either a Windows or Linux-based client without worrying about local mailbox formats. You may be able to get away with this after all though; there's several capable IMAP servers for Linux, and I'm sure at least one of them will compile and run on Windows also [0]. If the mail is kept on the Windows partition in mbox or maildir format, both Windows and Linux-based servers could be configured to serve it to local clients. Though of course, your Linux client could use them directly - so in short this is a kludge manner of reversing the problem and finding a way for Outlook Express to read mbox folders :-) Martin [0] It appears the UW-imapd will: http://www.washington.edu/imap/ -- http://the.earth.li/~martin/ -------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.lug.org.uk http://www.linuxportal.co.uk http://www.linuxjob.co.uk http://www.linuxshop.co.uk --------------------------------------------------------------------
