I use the airo card -- Cisco aironet 340 series (he writes,
reading the card case) -- which works very well with Linux using the
airo.o module. There is a PCI holder for the card which I use in my
gateway and the card itself for the laptop.
(I've not tried using WEP, as my ultimate plan is to run a
FreeSWAN tunnel over the radio LAN with the gateway set up to offer no
useful services on the wireless net (that is, just MAC-locked DHCP and the
FreeSWAN key negotiation protocol) once I get the mind-bendingly complex
documentation successfully compiled in my head...)
