Dear all;

Been lurking here for quite a while, nothing gone wrong on my dual boot box
at work.

The problem is the one at home. It's a bit of a bitsa - produced from bits
scrounged from scrapped pcs at work. Anyway, earlier this week I installed
Linux (Debian 2.2). Loads of little problems, some sorted, some not.

BUT - it's a dual boot system, with windows on hda and linux on hdc (hdb
doesn't exist). It was booting fine, 'till I decided to remove win 3.1 from
hda and replace it with windows 95. No problem, I thought, I'll just reboot
from the boot floppy and rewrite LILO.

I tried:
booting from Linux boot floppy
booting from Linux rescue floppy
booting from Linux rescue floppy image on CD ROM (just in case floppy drive
broken)
booting from Linux rescue floppy image on CD ROM and using setup sequence to
rewrite LILO

all to no avail. I get the following message when I attempt to log in:

BUG IN DYNAMIC LINKER ld.so: dynamic-link.h: 57: elf-get-dynamic-info:
Assertion
'! "bad dynamic tag" failed!

does this mean that I'm going to have to re-install?

TIA

Giles
