I had a page bookmarked somewhere that basically told you how to set it up using the /dev/ir0 or something similar.....
Do a trawl on google, but try for nokia 7110 since thats what the author had and I (used to have)..... Just came across this in my search http://mobilix.org/ir_misc.html Darren ----- Original Message ----- From: Craig Perry To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, June 19, 2002 8:18 PM Subject: [scottish] New Gadget To Work Under Linux Hi all, I just got hold of an old nokia 6130 the other day there. I got it with the full intention of posing about with my laptop accessing the dog slow 'net through an even slower 9600kbps connection. I seemed to have hit the ground running with this 'toy' as i have a 14400kbps not-as-dog-slow-but-still-dog-slow connection under Windoze 98 and hopefully soon under XP pro as well (via Nokia Data Suite 3.0a) So while everything seems to be working for me, i think i'll push the boat out and go for mobile net access under all three of my OS's on my laptop. Does anyone know of anything like nokia data suite which runs on a linux platform that would allow for connection to the net??? I have almost every cable under the sun for connecting my comp to phones as this is one of my 'hobbies' so i'm sure i'll be able to dig out anything required. Better still, is there software that will allow IR communication between the handset and laptop? Thanx in advance, Craig p.s. And yes i did send this email using the connection with the phone :) -------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.lug.org.uk http://www.linuxportal.co.uk http://www.linuxjob.co.uk http://www.linuxshop.co.uk --------------------------------------------------------------------
