I *think* a bug in fc5 together with scratchbox may have been the
cause of destroying my fc5 system, so I finally installed fc6 and the
latest(?) scratchbox releases.

it turns out that somewhere along the way a populated "dev" directory
is created under /scratchbox/users/jeff, and everything works fine
UNTIL I shutdown/reboot my fc6 system. After a reboot, the dev
directory is empty, causing sbox_login to fail.

I wonder if the dev stuff (along with chroot) was causing my FC5
system to croak (read - irreparably messed up the file system)

It seems that FC6, at least, rebuilds the real /dev directory upon
reboot, and perhaps deletes ALL device files wherever they are.

Any suggestions for how to easily continue working after a reboot?
