It might be a good idea to consider symlinking /scratchbox/etc/resolv.conf to /etc/resolv.conf the same way it's done with fstab, group, passwd and mtab.

That way, from outside scratchbox they're the same with the host and from inside scratchbox they're the same with the target.

There shouldn't be anything to prevent this, at least nothing that comes to mind when writing this...

Hi list,

I encountered a problem using Scratchbox 1.0.7 on my notebook.

My sandbox worked perfectly, and I was able of pinging any host from inside Scratchbox.

I moved from my network to a different one. So I had to change the network configuration of my PC from a static IP to DHCP. I rebooted the PC, then I discovered that the network inside Scratchbox did not work anymore: I was not able of pinging any host.

After about half hour, I discovered the existance of the /scratchbox/etc/resolv.conf file (different than the /etc/resolv.conf file inside Scratchbox and the /etc/resolv.conf of the host machine).

I found out that the DNS inside that file was wrong because it has not been updated when I had changed network settings.

So, my question is: why this file is not just a link to the /etc/resolv.conf file of the PC, so that it is automatically updated whenever the _main_ resolv.conf file is changed ??

Thanks,

       Claudio
