The Latest from The Screwdriver List!

I know nothing about the particular hard disk you mention--but I have
bought a number of IBM drives over the years and with just one exception
found them to be very reliable, solid and generally wonderful drives. I'd
say that IBM is now one of the premium hard drive makers. (They weren't
always, but they did originate the category and have never been far from
the top in quality--and recently they also are among the least expensive.
Yeah!)

The one IBM drive that gave me a problem was basically dead on arrival.
Well, almost dead. When I found out that I couldn't format it (after a
painfully slow partitioning), I realized that there was a serious hardware
problem--so I just returned it to the store and got another one of the same
model. That one is, as all the other IBM drives I've ever had, just fine.
