The Mail-Header "X-Accept-Language" ? that is used at least in Netscape based Mailclients ? should tell about the preferred languages. See http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/headers.html#X-Accept-Language But the question is how many eMail-clients besides Mozilla Mail and Thunderbird support this header nowadays. Regards, Helge
