[scribus] Properties window

Just downloaded scribus 1.3.7  for osx  and trying to learn the basics.  I
cannot get the "properties window" to show.  I insert my text or image box and
go to window, properties and nothing comes up.  There is a check by the
properties line but nothing appears on the screen.
